Chess in Đống Đa 7

Đống Đa, the former inner district south-west of the old quarter, holds more of the city’s chess cafés and player communities than any other district on this site. Along Chùa Bộc, Nona Cà phê has hosted blitz of Hanoi Chess Village and try-outs of a youth team. Off Nguyên Hồng in Láng Hạ, P Kafe gave its name to a run of amateur tournaments, and Look Board Game Station on Chùa Láng is a board-game café where a guide names chess among the games most played.

Happy Bishops Chess Community plays blitz and rapid at Urban Station on Nguyễn Ngọc Doãn. The Foreign Trade University club held an open and a student section in building K at 91 Chùa Láng, and the community cultural house at 22 Đặng Tiến Đông has held a practice tournament of its own club. None of these places prints fixed playing days, so each card shows its latest dated event.
